  1. Had the Prussians not arrived, the French would have defeated the Anglo-Dutch forces and marched on to Brussels. Everyone in the world calls the conflict the battle of Waterloo. The Germans do not call it the Battle of Belle Alliance. I speak both French and German and nobody refers to Waterloo as Belle Alliance. Sorry.
