With respect, you don't understand the world if you think the war in Ukraine and many elsewhere, have nothing to do with us. Retreating behind our oceans, will not help the US but only embolden bad actors everywhere, which will destabilize the world economy, energy supplies, allies, international trade and markets and eventually the US will be forced to intervene but likely against forces far stronger than they would have been, if the US had not withdrawn in the first place.
You only need look at what happens when the US withdraws, such as in Iraq and Afghanistan, previously in Vietnam, etc...to see that the power vacuum is always filled by enemies of the USA. Short term thinking is almost always emotionally based and not well thought out. Best to look further down the road and imagine the consequences.

It's not a fealty to war. The US is not at war, so that is an assertion without merit. Also, arming a nation attacked by Russia, is what we did from 1946-1991, all over the globe, this is no different save Russia is vastly weaker than the USSR. Also, if the US simply stops the aid, Ukraine will likely crumble, there will be nothing to stop the Russians from just taking the country. It's similar to what we observed in Iraq and Afghanistan and previously in Vietnam. A sudden pullout creates a vacuum which is filled by hostile actors. In this case not giving weapons and support. This move would also not be popular with our NATO allies and would sow further distrust around the world about US reliability.
No one is playing games with anyone's life. You are spouting hyperbole. The US does not control Ukraine, nor Russia. The war will continue if we stop helping Ukraine but the bad guys will win and that does not help the US.
I would urge you to rethink your views on US foreign policy, perhaps review some American history, especially between 1918-1941 and then during the Cold War.

I think Vivek is the best candidate in the field but Haley is correct about Ukraine and US foreign policy in general. If Russia is not badly bloodied in Ukraine, all authoritarian states will be emboldened. Rewarding Russian aggression will at best create a pause, which will allow the Russians time to regroup, retrain, rearm and be ready to blitz Ukraine next time. It is naive to believe differently. The aid we give Ukraine weakens Russia, keeps further adventurism at bay and is wakening up the world to the real threats everywhere. Allowing Russia to consume Ukraine, is a very bad decision, which will encourage more expansions, 'little, green men' and the destabilizing of Europe and the 'Near Abroad', as Russia terms it.
Vivek's Taiwan policy is good. Strategic clarity, which puts down a bright, red line and also puts Taiwan on notice, that it must take care of its own defense primarily in the future, i.e. stop spending 2% of GDP on Defense and start committing so much wealth to protection of the island, that China would have to be insane to attempt an invasion.
