  1. Without US food stuffs, very likely, the USSR could not have fielded something on the order of 60 divisions, as well as sustaining the civilian population. Also, without lend lease the USSR, at best, would have maintained the line somewhere around Kursk and have been unable to mount the massive motorized attacks that followed. Lend lease very plausibly saved the USSR and permitted it to concentrate on building tanks, artillery and planes while relying on the Americans for everything else, save oil.
