Homelessness is not really about poverty but about a lifestyle choice. This is the fundamental error being made.

Yup, that is horrible.

@LoveLee-jz1tj What work do you do? What are you qualified to do? How old are you? Where are you working now? I don't think you understand basic economics and the job market. Wages are based upon supply and demand for a given skill set and then modified by government interventions, like minimum wage. Employers to not base wages upon rents, that is a different market. Life is hard and if you are not making it where you are, I would suggest you must move.

You can't live in public spaces out of doors. Compassion is not a facet of law. It is a facet of morality or religion.
2
That is not the issue, and no one is really saying that being homeless is a crime. The issue is about living in public spaces without authorization, fouling those places and making them unusable by the public in general and indulging in illegal drugs and alcohol and preying upon each other without end.

@RozzyF680-uf9qe Well I doubt that situation is true but if so, you must move. Rents don't triple in the time period of a lease and of course you sign leases for time periods, usually 6 months to a year, though sometimes longer. Monthly leases are rare.

@jskyg68 Possible but highly unlikely today. Children in such circumstances are wards of the state and taken into their custody. No, I don't focus on the deep minority who don't want to be there. I am concerned with the overwhelming majority, and I am not uncomfortable at all with the others there due to circumstance. Nothing about holiness or being better than others unless we are speaking of how one makes choices. Certainly, some choices are better than others and the consequences bear this out.

Apples and oranges.
1
Correct, it's all about choices.
1
@LoveLee-jz1tj I would suggest moving to another locality or another state, where the cost of living is closer to what you can earn based upon your skill level. I think if you did this you would be surprised how much better life can be.
1
@LoveLee-jz1tj Of course you can, you just don't want to. Start looking across the country where jobs are more plentiful and costs are lower, inquire via email or telephone and then go.
1
@LoveLee-jz1tj Wages are exploding at the moment and are likely to go higher given the demographics and labor shortages. If you are not willing to go where the work and money is, then that is your choice. Don't blame society. Do you have a car? Can you take a bus? You could be in a different city in an hour and a half for $50 with Southwest if you plan a bit or another airline. Get with it man!.

It's not about poverty but a lifestyle.
1
@solomongrundy1467 Yes, that is how normal people think but it is not true for most homeless folk for many reasons, paranoia, mental illness, drug addiction, 'freedom', etc...
1
@doobly140 Do you have $1,000,000 to bet?
1
No, it is not the job of the state to provide housing.
1
@Zedeezia I say people take responsibility for their own lives, obey the laws and get off the public streets, making them drug scenes, filthy and unpassable.
1
@bretttobin9632 Correct.
1
Yes, the homeless are evil.
