  2. I don't think the Iraq War was a mistake outside of a failure to declare war, which is unconstitutional. I would argue the prosecution of the war, once won in the initial stages was the problem, not the war itself. Had we not have disbanded the military and deBaathized the government, had we sent more troops as Gen. Shinseki advocated, had we thought through the end game and chosen winners and losers or allowed for the Kurds to become independent etc...the outcomes would have been far better, and few would have been opposed to the war. No one ever knows what the outcomes of war will be, which is why we need to go through the constitutional process and actually declare war, if that is what we want to do. Supplying Ukraine is not the same as going to war i.e., Iraq. It is in the long-term best interests of the USA to stop Russia from conquering Ukraine. Allowing him to do so, will embolden US enemies worldwide and likely cause larger and more wars. We need to rebuild the manufacturing base for our military in all areas, artillery rounds, air to air, air to ground missiles, drones, anti-tank weapons etc... This conflict makes that clear. It is not a good idea to avoid conflict because the manufacturing is not up to snuff. It is solid defense policy to always be able to defend the nation. Now is the time to rearm. Ukraine could get more troops if it needs to do so. It is a nation of 40 million and can certainly put millions under arms if it had the resources to do so. They need equipment and arms. Currently there are 2.2 million Ukrainians in the military and they could call up another 500,000 but again needs arms and materiel for them. The conscription age was lowered from 27 to 25 years of age btw. The Russian Orthodox Church is a fifth column in the war. Russian Orthodox followers can go to Ukrainian Orthodox services. They are theologically the same. We always seize foreign assets when those nations become hostile. Russia is not a major investor in US securities. Also, we need to stop all the deficit spending.

  3.  @deankoerth9298  Endless war? Nope, it's over. War? Not really, the actual war ended pretty quickly. Losing 7000 troops over 20 years in two different countries is not war. We lose 14,000 per annum to murder in the USA and 80-100K to fentanyl and opioids each year. At Antietam, 25,000 Americans were shot down in two days of fighting and that with a population 1/10th what it is today. A little perspective is valuable. Engaging in Iraq and Afghanistan, likely prevented large scale terror attacks in the USA, which everyone was predicting after 9-11. Taking the war to the enemy did the trick. We devastated AQI and the Taliban and all the other jihadists including ISIS later. You might want to remind yourself why we hear so little about terror these days and not simply take it for granted that you are safe. Cowards and useful idiots take the position you seem to have adopted. Think.
