  1. You can't be in a cold war if you are trading half a billion dollars per annum with your foe. China is not nearly as formidable as the USSR was, not militarily, philosophically or economically, at their height and certainly not in terms of global reach, allies etc... Lastly, China is on the verge of internal collapse for a myriad of reasons.
