There's always the other side of the coin too. There are many White people who are interested in Asian wellness practices and philosophies like yoga, meditation and Buddhism and fascination with Eastern imagery like Buddha statues, Asian tattoos as well as martial arts, those who go to Asian countries like India and Nepal for spiritual trips (e.g. hippies), those who are interested in anime, manga, Kpop, Kdramas and general East Asian culture and aesthetics and those who enjoy living in tropical Southeast Asian lifestyle and culture like Thailand and Bali among other things. Ever since the East and West came in contact with each other, there has been a deep fascination and idolisation of each other.

@ar2r1an04 All of you are correct. There are ethnic Tibetans in India and Tibetan-related people who are indigenous to India. There are also Indians with what you call "Tibetan-like" features elsewhere in India like in Northeast India but also in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Ladakh (areas all located in proximity to the Tibetan Plateau) that are not Tibetan-related but completely different. So, all of you are correct.

@sardinesandpyjamas They could be from Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh or Uttarakhand too. Majority of NE Indians look more like Southeast Asians than East Asians.

@propottylegend9439 She could also be from Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand or Ladakh for all we know. Indians with East Asian features aren't just native to Northeast India. In fact, the majority of NE Indians look more similar to the majority of Southeast Asians whereas those from areas like Ladakh look more like East Asians.

@humnnn No, the Indo-European Steppe ancestral component is not the dominant component of Indians or Europeans. Europeans are closer to Middle Easterners than they are to Indians as they descend mostly from farming societies that developed in the Fertile Crescent and moved west through Anatolia into Europe (known as Anatolian Neolithic Farmers).
1
@humnnn The dominant ancestral component of Indians is not Steppe ancestry. The dominant ancestral component of Indians is IVC ancestry (mix between Neolithic Iranian and AASI-related hunter-gatherer ancestry).

@humnnn I'm using actual scientific terms. There were four main migrations into India: AASI hunter-gatherers, Neolithic Iranian Farmers, Austroasiatic Farmers, Western Steppe pastoralists and Tibeto-Burman farmers.
