@danielyu6399 What they're talking about is the lopsided ratio of women to men. There aren't enough women for every man in China. So you can't create families or anything like that. This has created a demographic and social issue in the country. So that has led to the establishment of the Asian migrant bride business in China (which also exists in other parts of East Asia), where women from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos and Christian women from Pakistan are sent to rural parts of China through marriage bureaus to make up for the shortage of Chinese women in rural China. Chinese marriage bureaus specialise in foreign Asian women because they are the closest cultural proxy to a traditional Chinese woman so they'll still maintain those traditional family values that exist in Asia pre-globalisation. This phenomenon first emerged in Japan in the 1980s and eventually emerged in South Korea, Taiwan and now exists in China too.
