@michaelamor1646 He's ethnically Chinese, not Malay

@Redstoner34526 I had no idea that Thai Miss Universe contestant Alisa Arunahiran looks Chinese (NOT, she looks more similar to an Indian). People need to learn about how diverse Asia truly is.
2
@cailyndhayes10 They don't consider themselves Asian because people constantly say they are not Asian.
2
@user-rx7in7ox4s India culturally influenced Southeast Asia. Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia etc. are Indosphere nations just like India. Crazy how people have no idea that Asian cultures have been influenced by both India and China
2
@Xiaox93 More familiarity? Are you aware that Southeast Asia was culturally influenced by India and that most of the region is part of the Indosphere?
2
@riskyriskywiggywiggy6954 People in South Asia don't call themselves Desi, only Indian, Pakistans and Bangladeshis do. East and Southeast Asians are NOT the only Asians. Gfy
2
@merc9nine When Britain occupied India and Hong Kong, they were occupying Asian territory.
2
@AstriMaulidina No, they use it to describe South Asians. Not East Asians.
2
@Redstoner34526 Most and East and Southeast Asians look more similar to one another when compare to Indians but anybody that is familiar with Southeast Asia will know how diverse it is. There are many SE Asians that look nothing like East Asians or South Asians. Also, genetically speaking, Asians (except Mid East) descend from East Eurasian lineages (AASI and/or ESEA) so there are common traits among all of these people even if phenotypical differences are evident such as the ABCC11 dry earwax allele and the EH1 genetic signal.
2
@Redstoner34526 People in Asia know they are Asians, they just don't go around defining themselves as Asians 24/7 the way East Asian Americans do.

@user-zgp6o9v51e Not even comparable. North American and South American are two different things. Asian is another completely different thing. There is no country called Asia.
2
@whateverwhatever4026 Except I'm not. Somehow you think "Asian" is appropriate for E/SE Asians even when SE Asians have more in common culturally with Indians. Middle Easterners are called West Asians in Asia.
2
@xandercorp6175 Except I have since you think the Indians coined the term Indian subcontinent. Completely unaware that it's because of the Brits who grouped different regions together to create British India.
2
@xandercorp6175 You said Indians identify separately and yet you're now denying it. So lying is part of your repertoire
2
@xandercorp6175 Did you or did you not say Indians identify separately?
2
@xandercorp6175 The nerve to say that it didn't say that when it quite literally did. Westoids stay in school challenge impossible
2
@xandercorp6175 All you can do it attack me without actually addressing the points that I'm making. The blatant deflection and ad hominem attacks, inferring I'm uneducated, all because you can't handle the fact that someone is calling you out on your anti-Indian remarks. I'm keeping track of everything and I know what I'm talking about. Don't insert yourself into Asian people's business. Stay in your lane.
2
@xandercorp6175 I haven't assumed anything about you either. I'm merely basing it off what you have said. Really funny how you make me out to be the villain even though you were the one claiming to be Indian, when you're not and claiming Indians identify separately. Very cunning, playing victim after everything that has been sad
2
@RextheRebel Indian is NOT a race. It's a nationality. Asian is not a race. Regardless of how you spin it, Indians and other Asians share genetic similarities with each other. They all descend fully or partially from an East Eurasian lineage. Do you really think two neighbouring populations are not going to share genetic overlap????? Americans stay in school challenge impossible

@Jambudvipa-ug6yg They are
1
India is in Asia. Maybe if you stayed in school instead of trying to become a singer, which btw you flopped so hard, you would know your geography.
1
You say that whilst living comfortably in the West. International departures is waiting for you.
1
@RextheRebel There are three Easts: Far East, Middle East and Near East. All of these Easts are what is known as ASIA. Try learning about the world, White American

@AdanSolas How is it irrelevant? You literally said they're all different and are trying to divide up the continent.
1
@AdanSolas Cambodia and Thailand were culturally influenced by India. They are NOT similar to South Korea. There are native people in Thailand and Cambodia that look more like Indians too like Miss Universe Thailand contestant Alisa Arunahiran. You're talking so much about Asia and yet you literally said Cambodia, Thailand are more similar to South Korea. I'm going to call it racism atp because only a racist will group East and Southeast Asians together and say they're all the same.

@StrawberryMilkkTeaa Firstly, the Andamanese are 100% East Eurasian and Basal East Asians are an East Eurasian lineage. They're all East Eurasians.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa Northeast Indians are Indians, they're not "Indians", they're Indians and yes they are genetically the closest Indian population to East Asians but that still doesn't change the fact that all Indians carry at least partial East Eurasian ancestry. Indians are a mix of differentiated West and East Eurasian ancestries.

1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa Northeast Indians are Indians, not "Indians". Stop being racist
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa Northeast Indians are Indians. Putting "Indian" in quotation marks is so shady
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa NE Indians are Indians. Don't negate their Indian nationality.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa The issue here is that people use "Asian" to describe so-called "race". Idk why people do such things because nobody in Asia uses it for anything but geography. This is an American issue, it's always the Americans who start these discussions.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa ESEA is still East Eurasian. AASI/Andamanese are genetically closer to ESEA than they are to modern mainland Indians. Yes most of their ancestry is West Eurasian-related but it doesn't change the fact that the rest of their ancestry is East Eurasian. That's why South Asians occupy a middle band between West Eurasians and ESEA/Oceanians on a PCA plot.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa Maybe people outside of Asia need to stop obsessing over phenotype and focus on real issues instead of making everything about race.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa East Asians descend from East Eurasian lineages and South Asians descend partially from East Eurasian lineages too.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa The lineages are on separate branches but they still East Eurasian and thus share affinity to ancient individuals like Tianyuan and Oase 1. There is a reason why Adivasi tribals in South Asia are genetically closer to modern ESEA than they are to North Indians, for example.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa You keep repeating the same thing over and over again. I am talking about East Eurasian DNA. You keep ignoring that and narrowing it down to ESEA, I'm not talking about ESEA. All Indians have some level of East Eurasian ancestry, whether ESEA or not. Do you understand now?
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa No because in Asia, people don't view "Asian" the way you do. So of course people will be annoyed if some distant group in another land co-opts the term to describe one group only because whenever somebody who is not East Asian says they're "Asian", people get mad. That should not be happening. Nobody in Australia or New Zealand bats an eye when a South Asian calls them "Asian", only Americans do.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa It has absolutely NOTHING to do with Kpop, you racist. It's insane that you even say that when Korean pop culture has been popular in parts of South Asia since the early 2000s, long before the West even knew about it. They've been broadcasting dubbed Korean dramas on TV channels in NE India, Nepal and Sri Lanka since the year 2000.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa It's always Americans saying these things, claiming it's because of Kpop. No! It's because South Asia is in Asia. Don't be pathetic and asinine. Educate yourself on Asia and stop being an East Asiaboo. What a racist thing to say.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa It's insane how you think South Asians calling themselves "Asians" means they want to be associated with East Asians. This just proves you associate "Asian" with "East Asian" and lack the ability to understand the term in different contexts.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa It's about you claiming ESEA is radically different, when it's not. Andamanese itself is closely related to ESEA and Tianyuan and as are all other East Eurasian lineages.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa You keep bringing up Finnish people but that's NOT the point. The point is that the indigenous people of South Asia are East Eurasian and they form the base layer for all South Asians. The indigenous people of South Asia itself formed from Basal East Asian + deep East Eurasian.
1
@StrawberryMilkkTeaa You're not understanding any of my points because you constantly think anybody that uses the term "Asian" means they want to be associated with East Asians. Let go of that ridiculous mentality. There are 6 replies or so, read them.
1
@leocorn5559 Nobody gaf, you want to be East Asian so bad but you're not East Asian and never will be. Nobody here is talking about genetics, we're talking about culture and it's just insane how you downplay everything in order to claim you're part of Sinosphere.
