Yunnan province of China is viewed as the "Gateway to Southeast Asia and South Asia" and it is now officially promoted as such. There are many Burmese people living and working in Yunnan who speak Mandarin and those border areas are a blend of Burmese and Chinese culture, you see it with the usage of both Chinese and Burmese scripts. You can find many Burmese Muslim men selling jade to Chinese customers and Burmese are the largest foreign group in China as of 2020. In northern Myanmar, in the city of Mandalay, there are also many Yunnanese from China living and working in the city to the point that Mandalay has become increasingly "Chinese" in atmosphere.

Taiwan claims everything that PR China claims (that includes all the territorial disputes with India, Bhutan etc.), it even claims Mongolia and various parts of Russia, Myanmar and Tajikistan. The difference is that the current party in power now views Taiwan as a merely being an island and Taiwan recognises the Mongolian passport. Officially speaking, Taiwan claims all of PRC and surrounding land and waters belonging to other Asian countries and it is known as the Republic of China (ROC) because it claims to be the legitimate "China" while the PRC recognises itself as the legitimate "China". However, this is only still practiced because if Taiwan (ROC) were to ever officially recede claims to all of those areas it would give the message to the PRC that Taiwan is relinquishing its claims to the title of the "legitimate China" and so it would officially be seen as a sign that Taiwan (the island) is a "breakaway state" within the PRC (because the PRC claims the island of Taiwan and that because Taiwan has its own government). That would give the PRC the right to invade Taiwan in order to maintain territorial integrity and no other country in the world will be able to say anything because Taiwan is a part of China as the ROC would no longer exist.

China refused the border because it annexed Tibet. Before that the British made the border agreement with the Tibetans and there was no problem.
2
Won't be surprised if that claim is resurfaced.

China wanted to build an airport. The US claiming it'll become a military base is fear mongering. Now compare that to the US trying to establish military bases across Asia (as if they don't have enough already). Do you know that the US was complicit in the expulsion of the Chagossian people so they could establish a military base on the islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
1
Well if you look a things objectively (I'm neither Indian nor Chinese), Aksai Chin is uninhabited and yes it's controlled by China because Pakistan gave it to China. Arunachal Pradesh is a state in India of which most if it is disputed and it's controlled by India because the British controlled the area and agreed with the Tibetans to draw the border there. Millions of people live there and they all carry Indian passports and people from other parts of India can fly there anytime they want. Someone from China is unable to enter the area without going through Indian customs. Makes total sense.
1
China wants Arunachal Pradesh because it has Tawang. The 6th Dalai Lama was born in Tawang. China fears the idea of a Dalai Lama being born in India as it now controls Tibet so the entire pan-Indo-Tibetan cultural sphere is seen as something that China must take control of. China also has something called the "5 Fingers of Tibet" and it refers to Tibet being the palm of the hand and Ladakh, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh being the fingers and that the "fingers" need to be connected to Tibet. Ladakh, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh all share the same Indo-Tibetan cultural heritage and so ideally these areas should become part of China per the CCP's views.
1
@k.k.c8670 Yes Indo-Tibetan cultural sphere. Tibet has NEVER a been a part of India but it absorbed cultural influences from India and the Himalayan areas. The entire region of the Himalayas is described as "Indo-Tibetan" because it is a blend of Indian and Tibetan culture. Don't try to tell me that Tibet and the entire Himalayan region belong to China, they DON'T. Are you trying to tell me Tibet, Ladakh, Nepal, Bhutan, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim are "lost territories of China"? We already know the CCP has claimed this in the past. I don't need to learn any history because I already know it. You don't know though. BTW, I'm not from India. Why are Chinese and Indian people always trying to claim other Asian countries as their own???? These two countries are creating instability in Asia. Living comfortable in the West while you harbour these views. Abhorrent.
1
@Flanker-L I'm not from India lmfao
1
@k.k.c8670 Right here in East and Southeast Asia? How do you live in two places at the same time?? Be specific. All I know is that you harbour these views and don't live in the PRC. Did I not tell you that I'm not from India? You're coping hard lmfao.
1
@k.k.c8670 Comfortably living in another country harbouring these views instead of moving yourself to mainland China. Typical.
1
You could easily make the same claim for the rest of India, not just the northeast.
1
@GoodVibes9988 They don't care because the Meitei Hindus (their cultural brethren) are committing atrocities against the minority Kuki-Chin because the Meitei desire tribal status. Had it been the other way, they'd be talking.

The US at 16:19 saying that China has no right to meddle in the Arctic as it's a non-Arctic nation is so ironic it makes me cringe. China believes the US shouldn't meddle in Asian affairs as it is a non-Asian nation, says "Asians must take care of Asia" but these words make the US upset. In the eyes of the US, it's okay for them to insert themselves in other regions but when another country gets involved in their region, it's "no, you're not allowed".
1
Are Jews not native to the area that is now made up of modern Israel and Palestine? How are you going to claim China's territorial disputes which are rooted in dynastic history and post-Qing Dynasty irredentism to what is going on in the Middle East. They are NOT comparable.
1
@BasedAccountLmao They have little ethnic conflict within themselves? Yes for Pakistan but not for India. Each state in India has its own ethnic group and language. People from each state hate each other, even people within the same state can hate each other (e.g. Manipur). There is so much ethnic, linguistic and physical diversity in India that India seems very artificial. India and Pakistan both being "desi" (whatever that's supposed to mean) means nothing. Russians and Ukrainians are both Slavic and yet are at war with each other. China and Taiwan are made up of predominantly Han Chinese people and hate each other. Thailand and Myanmar hate each other but both are Southeast Asian. North and South Korea hate each other but are both ethnically Korean. Just because people can be the same ethnic group or the same ethnic stock doesn't mean they aren't going to hate each other.
1
Not comparable at all lmfao
1
@miss1388 and yet nothing has been done about it. If it's so easy, why hasn't it been done?
1
No. The US doesn't have any disputed territory.
1
What didn't you understand?
1
The US has to stop criticising Russia and China now that they are once again tryinging to annex territory

@k.k.c8670 The difference is that the current party in power now views Taiwan as a merely being an island and Taiwan recognises the Mongolian passport. If Taiwan still laid undying claim to Mongolia it would refuse to recognise its passport. Be grateful that you can argue with while living in SEA because if you were living up north, you'd be having to use a VPN (which the government is cracking down on).
1
Are you using a VPN or living in another country?
1
Agreed and all of the China and India people on YouTube don't realise this and continue to argue and hate each other without realising so many other Asian countries hate both countries.
1
@henryhuang8779 To safeguard their interests and I'm speaking broadly in regards to all of their claims. Like I said the KMT is the party that established these claims and understandably so. The DDP is the one who is currently in power in Taiwan, not the KMT. Like I said, officially speaking Mongolia is recognised as a part of Taiwan and yet despite that, Taiwan still allows Mongolians to enter the country.

There is just no way to please you 💀💀

A new dash was added and the Russian territory was reclaimed.
1
@nix-be9rj The number of dashes have changed over time. Before it was 11, then it became 9 and now it has become 10.
1
@nix-be9rj The map has changed and so these changes generate discussion in Asia and Western media. They have claimed Russian territory now, even though it was resolved. Next year, they're probably going to depict the Humla district of Nepal as Chinese territory considering the fact that they are building stuff in the area.
1
@nix-be9rj Except it literally has changed. Go back to 2014 and have a look at the China map that was released in mid 2014. Does it include Russian territory? No it does not. That same map caused a stir in parts of Asia in the same year and now in 2023, the official map of China includes Russian territory. So no your point makes no sense because the reality nullifies it.
1
@nix-be9rj The reality is that you don't realise the map has changed. You're basing everything on a map from the early 2000s you supposedly have and somehow telling me I'm wrong when the national map published in 2014 included no Russian territory. I literally went and looked at the national map of 2014 last night and confirm that I am correct. You're coping hard instead of just accepting that you're wrong.
1
@nix-be9rj Yeah idk why you keep saying any of that as if it changes anything. Go back to 2014 and tell me what you see. The information is right there and you continue to argue with me.
1
@nix-be9rj I also really don't know why you're going so hard to defend the CCP even when the reality says otherwise, you must be from that country.
1
Y'all love bringing this up. Nobody cares.

Nepal and Sri Lanka were never a part of India, remember that. Respect their sovereignty and heritage please.
1
@Internetspider They were not separated from India. They have always been separate. They've never been a part of India. India is India because the British colonised the entire area. The Tamils of Sri Lanka are not Indians. They are indigenous to northern Sri Lanka and have their own culture and language. Sri Lankan Tamils are distinct to the Indian Tamils that were brought by the British to work on tea plantations.
