@emilkaLT5 Well NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, many would object for NATO getting involved in an Asian issue. China, India and Japan are the foreign keys to solving Myanmar's crisis but they don't care.

@okasur1 ...and she was detained. I think it's clear to see that she had to play by their rulebook. She was nothing more than a puppet. There is a reason why she was described as the "de facto leader of Myanmar" because she never was the de jure leader of the country. She had to follow their rules.

Asian countries are far more accepting of ethnic diversity and new immigrants than European nations. Millions of ethnic Chinese and ethnic Indians settled across Southeast Asia in the 18th, 18h and 20th centuries and in most countries they are accepted as locals without question. There is none of this "perpetual foreigner" stuff that continues to happen in countries like the UK, even if your ancestors have been living in the country for generations. There are so many Russian and Ukrainian refugees living in the resort towns of multiple Southeast Asian and some South Asian nations since 2022 and nobody says they need to leave. There are so many new ethnic Chinese migrants that have settled across Southeast Asia and parts of South Asia and nobody is protesting in the street demanding them to leave. That is the only continent on earth that struggles with accepting people is Europe and this isn't even about new immigrants, I'm talking about the people who settled in the UK during the post-colonial era whose second and third generation descendants are still treated like foreigners.

@tanjongmalim6869 Syria is not fragmented like Myanmar. Syria was ruled by a dictator and then fell victim to an Islamist terror group, there are no similarities whatsoever. Myanmar is ruled by a military dictatorship where ethnic minorities have mobilised in their lands to fight the government while ethnic majority Bamar also fight the military.

The military is only saying that to appease the international community out of fear that heavy sanctions will be placed on the country, ties cut with the military and the nation isolated from the international community. The Burmese military committed the genocide, they don't care about the Rohingyas.

@nietzchan The Indians will only defend their territory, they aren't going to follow the US and blockade the Malacca Strait when they have no jurisdiction over the waters in that area. Only Malaysia and Indonesia can do that.
