The Burmese military who staged the coup are the people who committed the genocide against the Rohingyas, not Aung San Suu Kyi.

@okasur1 ...and she was detained. I think it's clear to see that she had to play by their rulebook. She was nothing more than a puppet. There is a reason why she was described as the "de facto leader of Myanmar" because she never was the de jure leader of the country. She had to follow their rules.

@utopiasimmpin3729 Nobody believes the military. The military is only saying that to appease the international community out of fear that heavy sanctions will be placed on the country, ties cut with the military and the nation isolated from the international community. The Burmese military committed the genocide, they don't care about the Rohingyas.
