@gdi1093 1. "Asian" in this context is referring to Asia-Pacific or Indo-Pacific which generally means East, South, Southeast Asia and Oceania. 2. Do you not understand that the Indian subcontinent is part of Asia? It makes it sound like you don't. 3. Do you understand Asian geopolitics? Iran's geopolitical landscape is connected to the Middle East and to some extent Central Asia. It is not part of the same geopolitical landscape that covers East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia and Oceania. So why on earth would Iran join an Asia-Pacific organisation that is focused on issues in the waters surrounding India, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Australia and the South Pacific and the land the region covers? 4. You sound so bitter, it's laughable.

@gdi1093 Where on earth do you live? If you live in the Asia-Pacific and follow Asian geopolitics, you'll know that sometimes experts use "Asian" to describe the Asia-Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand) for easier communication. It's not something to get worked up about. Asia is so huge, just because Iran, Pakistan, China etc. are all on the same continent doesn't mean they're affected by the same issues, they're not. Same thing applies to Australia, it's geographically close to Southeast Asia and northeast Indian Ocean and a lot of its trade comes down the South China Sea. Iran has literally nothing to do with this. Stop crying.
