Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) “will expand the campaign [against Hezbollah] and increase the pace of attacks in the north.” This statement comes after an alleged Israeli nighttime airstrike in Syria, which shows an escalation in the offensive against the terrorist organization Hezbollah.
“Israel is moving from defending itself to pursuing Hezbollah, we will reach wherever the organization operates, in Beirut, Damascus and beyond,” Gallant declared during an assessment at the IDF Northern Command in Safed. This strategy marks a significant change in Israeli tactics, signaling an effort to neutralize Hezbollah beyond Israeli borders.
In recent actions, a senior Hezbollah commander, identified as Ali Naim, deputy commander of the rocket unit, was eliminated in southern Lebanon by an IDF drone strike. Additionally, in an attack in the Syrian city of Aleppo, five Hezbollah terrorists were among 38 killed during Israeli operations.
Gallant directly blamed Hezbollah and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, for the “serious damage in Lebanon” and the “numerous casualties” within the organization, amounting to more than 320 dead terrorists. “We will demand a price for any action that comes out of Lebanon,” he declared, underscoring Israel's determination to act accordingly in the face of any threat.
