You can scare people and that will work. Tell them subscription services has it in the initials. Tell them to think about their children, how they will have to buy subscription for a house even if they own it, how each of them is already getting a 1500$ loan for an iteration on radio(spotify, 10 years) and 2400$ for cinema(netflix, 10 years) and ask them if they realize they could go buy a nice used car for that amount of money... Unless they take are not willing to take a loan for that.
They will tell you they will unsubscribe if they can't afford it, so tell them they won't, even if they can't afford it, because they will tell themselves it's just 12$ a month(or 20), which would not solve their problems anyway. Tell them how you're expected to put up with this treatment from part manufacturers because everybody takes your services for granted, but your services won't be here in 5-10 years.
Is there a new model? BUY A NEW PHONE! (and explain why, because they won't get it) Scratched your home button? BUY A NEW PHONE! Bought a phone? BUY A NEW CABLE! Stepped on your cable? BUY A NEW PHONE!
