  3. ⁠ @filipe5722 Nato won’t be destroyed if Trump gets reelected, if Trump manages to retract the USA from Nato than Europe will just have to compensate for that with a lot of means. Please remember that although Trump is a fundamental threat to the core political, economic, social and military structure of the Westen world, Europe’s economic power is still overwhelmingly stronger than Russia’s. And economic is indirect military power. It’s not Britain during WW2 against Germany praying for American and S-U aid. We have lots of potential as well, we’re extremely rich, we already have half of Nato, we have nuclear weapons of our own from France and Britain, and we’re determined enough to do what needs to be done. It’s only a complicating factor.

  4. Nato is the EU and the EU together with the US represents the west. The west is benefiting from a hard stand against the Russian agressor because in this way the west is showing Russia that waging war against nations that are seeking bonding with the west is only harming Russia itself. Investing in Ukraine is not only stepping up for what is right it’s also a unique opportunity to show what the west can and perhaps even wants to do when they’re indirectly attacked.

If the ‘win in three days’ will ever become something that can be, with all the losses and embarrassments and costs in mind, confidently be qualified as a victory than NATO will have to strengthen up even more. But with Putin being as old and potentially secretly ill as he is and with the fact that the Russian economy is not even much bigger than the Benelux region we’ll not have that much else to fear from that bloodthirsty dictator that you might assume.

  7.  @icecoolgaby  You see a role player because you happen to believe he's a 'role player'. That's what you're doing although you can't loke inside the man. You could look at his effect though, his country was invaded by a country with a far stronger military, still Ukraine keeps up the fight and has been victorious. President Zelensky is the leader of Ukraine and his country's army matches up to the Russian's due to his efforts in gaining international support. So a lot of the reason that Ukraine can withstand this Russian war of agression against them is because of him. That's what makes him special.
