  1. Nato is the EU and the EU together with the US represents the west. The west is benefiting from a hard stand against the Russian agressor because in this way the west is showing Russia that waging war against nations that are seeking bonding with the west is only harming Russia itself. Investing in Ukraine is not only stepping up for what is right it’s also a unique opportunity to show what the west can and perhaps even wants to do when they’re indirectly attacked.
