So with no roots in the UK at all, she dares to lecture the natives on why we shouldn't have any borders. Tempting to think the Home Office made a big mistake letting her family in, and we should have enforced our borders better.

she's right though. the new British culture sees pubs closing down and more and more areas restricting alcohol consumption, more charges against damage to the quran

I left England a long time ago because it is no longer England. the cities are horrible places. UK imported all the wrong types.

when homogenous places like Japan and Belarus see this kind of diversity, they must really regret having almost no immigrants.

no one blames the immigrants. we don't like the immigrants and we blame the government. not that difficult to figure out.

sickening, the total disregard for the UK taxpayers who have to keep forking out for this scam.

there is only one solution, but it will never happen. all boats have to be towed back to France and all illegal immigrants stripped of their possessions, otherwise they will just try again.

@TBT half the year in France (small town, very few imported migrants, but the nearest city, Perpignan, is overrun with them) half the year in Mexico. the rare occasions I go back to England I dread it. from landing at Heathrow to leaving from Gatwick I feel like I'm in some dysfunctional refugee camp that has hijacked the country i was born in.

this whole "English towns and cities going down the drain" is so true. I'm English, my wife is from the Bahamas, we both work online and move around a fair amount, but avoid England. strolling around any English town at night my wife would say "this isn't how I imagined England to be" and I'm forced to answer "this isn't how it used to be" we have a small apartment in rural France where, so far, the migrant masses haven't invaded, but where we feel most at ease is Mexico. I just dread spending any time in London, in particular, from the very first moment when someone in a turban at passport control asks me in broken English "why I am coming back into the UK". horrible experience.

those entering from France are not fleeing persecution. they already fled persecution and found safety in France. thus no one entering the UK illegally from France is seeking asylum (they already had asylum in France) and none are refugees (they had a refuge in France).

@TBT yes, I can appreciate that. I honestly don't know how I would cope if I had to stay in an English city all year. honestly. i would be both so angry and depressed. i hope things change, but i fear they won't and year by year, "white British" will become the minority in every town and city. then village. i wish you all the best of luck. at least you have a few people you can vent to if needed!

the assimilation argument baffles me. there are plenty of examples of immigrants who choose not to assimilate, and thy are welcomed and they benefit the host country. the key issues for the host country are respect for the laws of the host country, and tolerance of the traditions of the host country, If the immigrants can abide by those two things, and not be parasites on the society, then they are welcome, no assimilation needed.
