  1. the assimilation argument baffles me. there are plenty of examples of immigrants who choose not to assimilate, and thy are welcomed and they benefit the host country. the key issues for the host country are respect for the laws of the host country, and tolerance of the traditions of the host country, If the immigrants can abide by those two things, and not be parasites on the society, then they are welcome, no assimilation needed.
