  1. fascinating that so many people assume the Russian objective was to encircle the city. I guess "cauldron" and "war of attrition" are concepts beyond their comprehension.

  2. "both sides suffering heavy losses" = Ukrainians getting wiped out with a death toll much higher than that suffered by Russia, so let's just say "both sides" are in the same dilemma.
