@DjWellDressedMan what the hell do you think Cuba has to trade even if the embargo was lifted? the embargo is just an excuse for failure.

@bb1111116 remember, the travel embargo was placed on Cuba in the first place because Castro refused to reimburse any US property holders for assets seized and confiscated as a result of the revolution. what has Havana done to address that issue? Also, the US dollar is hit with an extra government mandated exchange rate penalty compared to the euro, what has Havana done about that? There was plenty of tourism to Cuba from Europe and Latin America before Covid....why has it not returned? if you can answer that question you will be getting close to understanding why Cuba has nothing to offer the world. Capitalism would solve almost all Cuba's woes overnight.

@geofflepper3207 "Cuba losing trade with the nearby USA" let's express that truthfully. "the Cuban government refusing to address the issues that prevent trade with the USA". Havana just needs to remove the source of the reasons for the embargo.

@DjWellDressedMan Had Cuba addressed the reason why the embargo was imposed in the first place, many of its problems would have disappeared by now. No lectures needed on when the embargo came into effect, thanks. Until you address the refusal of Cuba to settle legitimate U.S. grievances that resulted in the embargo, then you have no clue how it can all be resolved on Cuba's end.

@DjWellDressedMan I haven't heard anyone argue that Cuba is a threat to the world, nor that it is a threat to USA, so not sure what your argument is there. Are you thinking the US embargo is connected with Cuba posing some kind of threat?

@DjWellDressedMan and the more foreign currency you bring into Cuba, the more prices shoot up in Cuba, more money chasing same amount of commodities available = inflation. your vacation helps ruin the lives of the ordinary Cubans. well done.

@TheMarcuslindberg I think you'll find Helms Burton is just not enforced. The vast majority of companies have no trade with Cuba because Cuba produces nothing of any significance at all. If Serbia imports some sugar from Cuba and exports some water pumps to USA, there is absolutely no one who cares.
