@nerdyali4154 and now the truth...Poroshenko and Zelensky are jointly responsible. Donbass and Crimea wanted to control their own destinies free of Ukrainian control and Kiev is afraid of that. That is he bottom line and anything else is justificatory rubbish from Kiev and politically based conspiracy theorising from Westerners. Donbass needs help, but they are determined to fight even without it. Denying them help would just condemn even more of them to death. Thank you, Russia

@lupus3824 you are very confused, so let me straighten you out. No one is committing genocide in this conflict. The Azov Nazis were not trying to eliminate all the Donbass Russians, just compel them to rejoin Ukraine. The Russians are not committing genocide in Ukraine, otherwise you would see millions dead by now. Now, tell me, which Russian individual ever accused Ukraine of committing genocide? No one has ever said "Ukraine is basically all Russian". What has been said is that, historically, Ukraine is part of Russia. Remember, Britain fought the Crimean War against Russia, not Ukraine. Only in very recent history has Ukraine been a separate country, and that due to the 15 republics as constituted by the Soviet Union, not for any cultural, historical or linguistic reason. you have so much to learn on the topic. in the end, Ukraine will have wished it went ahead and promised neutrality and let the Donbass Russians become part of Russia. You'll see.

I am a UK national, Bahamian wife, living in France. yes, cost of living is the most important thing. independence and sovereignty count for nothing if you are poor. and more important than the cost of living is one's health.

@hugoc2660 sorry, I answered the bit about the money, but not the soul. Yes, Putin very much has my soul. Best world leader by far. Unlike someone like Biden, Putin's academic qualifications are outstanding, his analysis and insight truly impressive, and he stands up for Russians and ethnic Russians admirably. That's why he has so much support, at home and globally. BRICS, OPEC, Latin America, Africa, Asia, all very happy to work with Putin.

@mochtegerndane7097 definition of "defeat" varies in each individual case, and each individual conflict will see the sides involved fighting for different aims. BTW, you re confused between the USSR and the Russian Federation. It was the USSR, led by a warmonger Ukrainian, Brezhnev, that failed in Afghanistan, but don't let details bother you. Back to the point, Having seen how hapless NATO were at exiting Kabul in 2021, only a fool would have though a NATO supported Ukraine would be able to defeat the world's largest nuclear power, Russia.

@gizmo6746 you are ignorant. the people of the Donbass are free and have chosen to separate from Kiev and subsequently join Russia. Just as Crimea did. Reminder, in Crimea, The Crimean parliament in Simferopol voted 78-0 to separate from Kiev in 2014. it is the Ukrainian parliament that has no opposition parties present. In the Duma, Putin has to deal with opposition parties all the time. you have zero idea about freedom in that part of the world. stop being a sheep and repeating the garbage you are fed by Western media. wise up.

@hugoc2660 Both Russia and Ukraine operate through the oligarchy system. But there are 2 big differences. In Russia, Putin controls the oligarchs. In Ukraine, the oligarchs control puppet Zelensky. Putin takes none of my tax money. Zelensky begs and gets chunks of my tax money. Learn the differences.

@hugoc2660 we will see what happens. don't assume anything for now, but most probably either Prigozhin will be captured and tried for treason, or an agreement will be made to accommodate Prigozhin's complaints. Prigozhin's own personal contract is up, and many Wagners are also anxious about their contract status. It is the downside of having a private army that has become so successful. Either way, Ukraine still gets hammered every day, so enjoy the sideshow while your fellow Nazi lovers get massacred.
