@UNNYANEMPEROR38 no one is arguing that point. the point is that Russian men have the freedom to leave Russia if they fear conscription, as evidenced by the large number of Russian men who have fled to Turkey, Georgia, Kazakstan etc. Not one of them has been refused exit. Ukraine, on the other hand, has refused all fighting age men, and now women, from leaving the country. Ukraine has lost all freedom of movement. So don't try telling me Ukraine is the more free and democratic of the two. It's nonsense, and the West has been duped into thinking Ukraine is a democracy.

@allahjohnson9654 plenty of Russian men safely in exile in Kazakstan and Georgia and Turkey, no bullets in the head. Only fleeing Ukrainians get that treatment. If only you knew the true tyranny that is Ukraine today.

@zytoses9223 no, the men leaving the country rather than be conscripted is a freedom accepted in Russia but denied in Ukraine. In fact, even fighting age women are now no longer allowed to leave Ukraine. Both sides, Russia and Ukraine, are threatening to and actually putting bullets into the heads of deserters on the battlefield, you will find.

In Ukraine, on the contrary, such a CHOICE does not exist! The tyranny of Ukraine is that men, and now women, are COMPELLED BY LAW to stay and be conscripted into the next unit of cannon fodder to bite the dust at the hands of the Chechens and Wagners! Today in the Ukrainian parliament no opposition parties are allowed, there is total state control of the media and the population of fighting age are prohibited from leaving the country. Just last week churches were raided, priests arrested and one denomination of the Orthodox church closed down (so bang goes freedom of religion). go ahead oh wise one. Give it a name.

It is a total nonsense that Ukraine is some kind of democracy. It is not, and democratic institutions have been trampled on in a way that WW2 Britain would never have DREAMED of doing. EVERY word you used to justify abandoning democracy in Ukraine would be used by Kim Jong Un for the dictatorship currently in North Korea, so either you need to re-think, or use different words. The problem is, you can't. you foolishly bought into this nonsense about Ukraine being some kind of democracy, now you are stuck with it. The sooner Ukraine is crushed the better. * years of shelling the Donbass deserves a Russian intervention and justice, finally, is being done.

@R18Y oh, just LOOK at the horrendous choices Ukraine made before the invasion! 1) admitting and welcoming a Nazi battalion into its national defense force 2) outlawing Russian, the native language of 40% of its population, in education and government 3) refusing to implement the Minsk Agreements 4) shelling the Donbass for 8 years ..you can see, Ukraine made horrendous choices BEFORE the invasion, choices that CAUSED the invasion! Get a grip of reality!

If you want to have a Communist revolution and change that law, go ahead, otherwise open up your own home to as many hundreds of parasites as you want.

@niburu1508 China, Japan, Korea (both North and South), Russia...any country with no mass immigration has no, or hardly any, housing problem. you can't have mass immigration and no housing problem. it's not that the government WANTS refugees. It's that the government is unable or unwilling to tackle the problem. so, if you don't want refugees just come out and say it instead of deflecting to housing issues.

@zzmmz3789 correct, and not one single one of them asked anyone for help, shelter, handouts, and they showed overwhelming gratitude for any hospitality shown. Not one of them grumbled about being accommodated in a hotel because not one of them was accommodated in a hotel! See the difference?
