@tedcrilly46 translation = so yes, we will buy Russian energy through third parties and blindly hope Russia one day will be forced to pay it back. Not much of a strategy there, really. More likely third parties will charge the West exhorbitant prices and Russia will be demanding reparations from Zelensky. Hell, Zelensky might even have to sell off his mansion in Miami and villa in Tuscany!

@tedcrilly46 the sanctions are irrelevant now, because Russia has no interest in trade with the weasel EU sanctions or no sanctions. BRICS is the future. . Keep begging Qatar and co for your energy needs for the indefinite future:) ...in the end, you will all be envious of Hungary and the approach it took. It's only september, but judging by the 70,000 angry masses in Prague last weekend, EU ain't gonna last long on the present track!

@tedcrilly46 yes, lots of gas producers out there, but none seem to be able or willing to raise output. OPEC just announced a cut back in production, Germany already went begging to Canada, USA, Qatar and Nigeria and came back empty-handed, Venezuela and Iran on Russia's side, so you tell me and Germany, which gas producer has been overlooked to replace Russian gas?

@tedcrilly46 you are way behind the times! Norway can't increase production, it's at max! Spain begged Algeria MONTHS ago, maxed out! Azerbaijan, yep, remember von der Leyen smiling after concluding that treaty, but it is a pitifully small addition, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan are sticking with Russia, there will be very little cooperation there. reserves are plentiful, but not enough infrastructure to get it all out and into households. Russia doesn't want to be a trade partner with Europe, apart from Serbia, Belarus and Hungary. Europe is not trustworthy, BRICS is the future, Europe needs Russia MUCH more than other way round. Get ready for blackouts and lots of frozen to death old people! You deserve it!

@tedcrilly46 you seem to forget that money is not the key here. Money is merely the means for exchanging goods and services. If you got no goods and services, money is worthless. you can have all the money in the world, but if you have a shortage of energy, you screwed. so now i see why you don't get it. you think money will help. it won't. without energy and world trade (two thirds of the world supports Russia, NOT the West), you going downhill. The last US weapons package was procurements! (have to be ordered and manufactured!). NATO at the bottom of the barrel! Russia won:) Next time don't pick a fight with someone who has less money than you, but more commodities:) and more guts

@tedcrilly46 the only hope for Europe, in the short term (next few years), to replace Russian energy is to buy Russian energy from third countries (China, India) and pretend it is not Russian energy. But obviously the fools in Europe will just be paying a lot more for the same thing and will still be fueling the Russian war effort.

@tedcrilly46 once again, the fuel reserves Europe has are insufficient, hence Nordstream 2 was built and hence Habeck's panic to get gas from Qatar, Nigeria, Canada or USA (all failed). think about it. If reserves were sufficient Habeck wouldn't be warning Germans of power cuts

Kherson offensive is now the Kherson graveyard, read the WP article on the disaster for Ukraine there
