especially the Russian speaking ones, fighting so desperately to be free from Kiev.

Let me answer the question that Eggert refused to answer. No, Russia is not facing any recruitment problems. The volunteer rate is still high, and unlike Ukraine, women and teenage boys are not being forced into becoming cannon fodder after a few weeks of basic training.

@christianevanherck6023 4% of the Swiss are Italian speakers, but those Italian speakers have their education in Italian, and rightfully so. 10% of Spaniards are Catalan speakers, but those Catalan speakers have their education in Catalan, and rightfully so. in the Donbass, there are communities where 90% of the people are Russian speakers, but that 90% are refused education in Russia. The Russian speaking children and Russian speaking teachers are compelled to conduct all instruction in Ukrainian. Explain why the Swiss and Spanish so wisely respect minority language rights while Ukraine refuses to. Maybe you now see why so many Russian speaking Ukrainians now hate Kiev and the fascism and apartheid for which it stands.

@lena-qe1pg genau!

"Many wives would like their husbands to come back" What? You don't think ALL wives want their husbands to come back? What kind of brainless reporting is this?
1
they are on contracts, and it is extremely rare that Russian servicemen break their contracts.
1
@solconcordia4315 Correct. If the Russian state breaks the terms of the soldier's contract, the soldier can legally refuse to fight. Incorrect. It would be suicidal to sign to fight for the Ukrainians, and Russians know how evil Kiev has been in all this since 2014.

@George.Andrews. I am giving you something the Western media deny you...the perspective of the people of the Donbass who have been so oppressed by the maniacs in Kiev. Been to Ukraine, have you? Learn the truth.
1
@DHITTZ03 never been more serious in my life. how about you rebut what I said with evidence.

@maximebegin1454 so was Einstein

@christianevanherck6023 All the evidence you need is to be found if you google "Language Policy in Ukraine" and read the Wikipedia article. Research the absolutely scathing report from the EU on language restrictions imposed in Ukraine. It is a veritable language apartheid system Kiev has imposed on the country. I myself was a victim of it when forbidden from using Russian in an English language class, even when all students agreed that Russian would be the best lingua franca for instruction. Needless to say, I don't comply with restrictions on freedom of speech, so I left Ukraine. What personal experience do you have of Russophobic language bullying in Ukraine? Please tell me. Oh, that's right, you prefer to take the word of the never biased "Ukrainian Institute" and strictly impartial France 24. Got it. You are so clueless.
1
@christianevanherck6023 just curious, in the 2022 poll, how many Ukrainians in the Russian occupied areas, including Crimea, were polled?
1
@christianevanherck6023 1. Russians are not interfering in any language rights. Russians fully accept Ukrainian as a state language in Ukraine. It's the Ukrainians that have done all they can to remove Russian as an official language. And that is wrong, full on apartheid. 2. There is zero "international obligation" to legislate on language policy. you are so full of bs. 3. It is pure apartheid to pass a law on THE state language when 40% of the population don't use Kiev's declared state language as their mother tongue. Try this nonsense in Quebec and see the riots you would get from the French speakers. 4. Thanks for repeating the details of the apartheid language laws of Ukraine. you made it abundantly clear how discriminatory and absurd such laws are. A Russian speaking patient dealing with a Russian speaking doctor must use Ukrainian! Pure fascism. 5. Thanks for pointing out the exceptions for special consideration. Please explain why Yiddish and Russian are not given the same exemption status as Tartar and Hungarian. I mean, we wouldn't want to conclude that Ukraine ian anti-semitic, russophobic fascist state, would we? so, please explain why Yiddish and Russian are denied the status of other languages. 6. You did a great job detailing why Russian speakers now hate Ukraine. Equal language rights = freedom of speech, and Ukraine has decided to deny Russian speakers freedom of speech. shame on you for supporting such fascism.
1
@christianevanherck6023 so curious you refuse to answer why Switzerland recognizes Italian as an official language of the country, and why Ukraine refuses to recognize Russian as an official language of Ukraine! Italian spoken by just 4% of Switzerland. Italian = an official language. Russian spoken by 40% of Ukraine. Russian refused recognition as an official language. Why? Which country is the more inclusive and tolerant, Switzerland or Ukraine?

@christianevanherck6023 who cares when someone joined anything? deal with the message, not the messenger, if you actually have a point.

@bonnie7898 Panama, Grenada, Afghanistan, Iraq (twice), Libya, Serbia...how long a list would you like?
1
@christianevanherck6023 how could you be sure I refused to reply to Bonnie? I reply to everyone. Yet another absurd and ignorant assumption you have made. Par for the course.
1
@bonnie7898 AHH, so now we get to the truth! The definition of "starting a war" is firing the first shots! So, here is Bonnie's definition of the international rules based order: Any shots fired anywhere on the planet, for whatever reason, gives the USA the right to intervene and determine the "war". Got it. The usual nonsense from a war monger like you. In the case of the Eastern Caribbean States requesting US military intervention in Grenada, what compelled the USA to say "yes" rather than "no"? As usual, you leave out half the story. Cuba and Nicaragua requested no intervention in Grenada's affairs. Why would the ever peace loving USA ignore please for non intervention and choose to bring war to Grenada instead?
1
@bonnie7898 with total disrespect, it's a bit rich that someone who didn't know Russia was one of the allies in WW2 lectures someone else on reading up on matters! the geopolitics behind such conflicts are only "extremely complicated" to someone who has no bloody clue what they are talking about! For those of us who devote an enormous amount of time to learn about the world, these conflicts are not complicated at all! There are some salient interests and beliefs that shape all such events in the world. You just have to know how to interpret such things. Your ignorance and naivety about Ukraine is absolutely stunning. You have never listened to the Donbass or Crimean side to the argument, and you don't care to. You live in blissful ignorance.
1
@BoxcarWillie42 exactly so. and Putin is redrawing the map to reflect that reality. you should support his efforts to let the ethnic Russians of Mariupol etc be, finally, part of Russia.
1
@BoxcarWillie42 So did the Allies in Germany and Japan in WW2, so did the USA in Iraq, and Zelensky killed thousands of his own citizens from 2014 to today, it's called war, its called collateral damage, grasp reality and grow up, child. Not on anyone's payroll, but I worked for a while in Ukraine in 2018 and know what it's like there, and it's not as the Western media portray it. I'm definitely on Putin's side, and so should you be.
1
@putte2164 They have! and they have brought their ancestral homelands with them. check the map of the new ex Ukrainian territories incorporated into the RF.

Russia has elections and Putin has to confront political opposition in the Duma daily. Ukraine has canceled elections and the Rada has no opposition parties. Learn the truth.
