it's by RELAXING sanctions that led to this deal! Russia now permitted in writing to export food and NO SANCTIONS CAN BE APPLIED TO SUCH RUSSIAN FOOD SHIPMENTS. Western capitulation on sanctions is the only reason grain shipments are happening!

Clearly many in the West are absolutely praying some obstacle will impede this grain shipment agreement from working. After all, if relaxing sanctions and trusting Russia leads to help in relieving starving Africans, that would be disastrous for the Western narrative! I mean, whatever next? Negotiating a ceasefire and peace agreement for Ukraine? Unthinkable. Better to keep fighting and dying, the West would say.

@adrianm.2043 but if sanctions in banking remain, food exports payments can't be made. so back to square one, no grain shipments. This was why the African Union took the side of Russia and told the West, withdraw ALL sanctions (including banking) connected with food exports, and the grain can flow, which, when the West totally capitulated on the banking sanction, led to grain moving. Now Russia will work the system to make sure all kinds of payments are made under a food export account. The sanctions are falling apart and rightfully so. the best thing the West can do if it wants to help Africa is to repeal sanctions. it would also be the best thing for Europe. The sanctions have failed miserably, as they have against Cuba, Iran and Venezuela. Time for the West to learn something.

The Russian narrative is almost as biased as the DW narrative, where "Ukraine good, Russia bad" predominates. The Russian presenter has a point...Germans were always known for being somewhat stinky anyway, so God knows what health issues will arrive from reduced shower times and cold water only this winter in Germany. Hold your noses as you fly over Berlin!
