IMF is predicting modest growth for the Russian economy! Turkey and Kazakhstan are thinking of begging the EU to be sanctioned too these days!

would have made no difference. Russia is not isolated and Russia exports what the world needs. deal with reality.

"a bit less of an effect than was hoped at the beginning of the war".......just a bit. The expectation was hyper-inflation, the ruble reduced to rubble, banking system dismantled, economy wrecked. IMF now predicts modest growth for Russian economy and revenues from energy exports are up. yep, just "a bit less of an effect".

@bordeaux1337 certainly does. but unless -5.6% = regime change or radical change in war policy, it doesn't matter. sanctions failed.

@bordeaux1337 it does not make it more difficult to the point of having to change policy or remove Putin. Nowhere near. Fascinated by the assumption that you think Russia is buying missiles. why do you Russia is buying missiles and not trading missiles for nuclear technology? talking of murdering innocent people, how many innocent people were murdered by Azov shelling, 2014 to 2022?

@tin-n-tan when I look around my house, almost EVERYTHING comes from Russian products! Russian energy (coal, gas, oil) is used in the manufacture of EVERYTHING! Russia exports what the world needs....energy, food, fertilizers, precious metals....that is why the sanctions have failed. Russia always has a market for its products. Grasp reality.

@tin-n-tan just keep in mind the war started with Azov Battalion shells fired on Donbass towns in 2014. celebrate your side starting the war by getting another swastika tattoo! why not, ukronazi lover.

@realnapster1522 exactly so. it is taking some people a long time to understand this idea that sanctions can be circumvented

Macron is particularly keen on banning all EU imports of uranium from Russia and Kazakhstan, as that would really hurt Russia and would only really really hurt Europeans.
