@gikigill788 remarkable as this news is for you, Russia possesses weapons both conventional and nuclear that can wipe Berlin and London off the face of the Earth. No army and no air force needed. The more NATO escalates the conflict, the more likely it is that NATO will be attacked, obviously. Let me guess, you assumed Russia was running out of fuel, ooh, about 10 months ago?

@gikigill788 Russia will "seize" to exist or "cease" to exist. Let me know if you want to learn correct English. Russia may well start the poker game with low stakes. you know, a conventional attack on, say, Tallinn, just to see if demilitarized NATO has the guts to retaliate. Given Russia's size, it will continue to exist, unlike the tiny countries of Europe. A wise person would assume that Russia is armed and ready for any kind of conflict.

@thomasherrin6798 NATO needs to tell Ukraine to talk peace, if it had any sense. NATO is close to being demilitarized, so Russia will feel, at some point, the temptation to launch something not too destructive on one of the chihuahua NATO states, just to see the extent to which Article 5 is invoked.

@shadowbanned636 yep, direct attack on Riga. cruise missiles on Riga in retaliation for Latvian involvement in Ukraine and for discrimination against ethnic Russians in Latvia. Article 5 allows for many options, calling for a response that may (or may not) include a military response. Do you assume all NATO members would be on board, immediately, to fight against Russia? even Hungary? even Turkey? and what form would "total war" take? NATO planes shot down by Russia's superb air defence systems? Body bags of French and British troops flown home by the thousands, all over two missiles hitting Riga? really?

@thomasherrin6798 only when you use the useless measurement of GDP. when you look at what Europe produces, I mean actual commodities the world needs (food, precious metals, energy) Russia is far stronger than Europe, and that is why the sanctions failed, Fools looked at GDP numbers, not production levels.
