Yep, Erdogan has got NATO by the balls and will indeed drag out the NATO membership issues for a while. Bit strange that NATO is trumpeting Sweden and Finland's membership, which is still not a done deal, while ignoring the fact it has effectively lost the member nation of Turkey (now Russia's ally on the inside).

honey, the grain has been trapped in silos since Ukraine mined its coast. Ukrainian shipping is moving in and out of Izmael, the Ukrainian Danube port, so stop blaming the blockade/fighting, start looking at Zelensky's refusal to demine.....that's if you want to report in a balanced way.

@karllansche9843 1) Stop assuming things of which you have no idea. You don't know me, so you would have no idea where I have lived and not lived, be it on the banks of the Danube or not. Stick to what you know. 2) I made NO comments on cost of transport or size of cargo, None. Irrelevant to my message. 3) My point was that ships are coming in and out of Izmael and there is NO Russian blockade to prevent these ships, therefore it is FALSE to say that the Russian blockade is preventing grain shipments. I guess reading comprehension is not your forte.

@AORD72 once again, you make the same mistake as EU leaders when they imposed sanctions on Russia, assuming Turkey will lose its EU markets without being able to replace those markets with others elsewhere. When will EU wake up to the fact that they are not indispensable? The future is BRICS, not G7, and Turkey is Russia's ally, not the EU or NATO's.

@francoislechanceux5818 Erdogan doesn't know the meaning of the word "never". Turkey's arming of Ukraine more than most countries of Western Europe doesn't take much, given the pathetic amount coughed up so far by Western Europe, As to recognition of Crimea, could well be tied to recognition of Northern Cyprus by Russia, a future tit for tat recognition could be on the cards. Erdogan has, keep in mind, encouraged Russia to Turkey flights for Russian tourists. $40 billion lost revenue for the EU from Russian tourists, a big chunk of that on its way to Turkey. No wonder the euro has crashed and the ruble so strong. Read it and weep, you EU losers!
