No, China isn't saying "don't force us to choose sides in this war", China is saying "we will choose Russia if at any point we feel it necessary". Big difference.

The longer this goes on, the more attractive that Istanbul proposal that got scuppered by Boris Johnson starts to look.

If Sunak gave Boris a vote of confidence just a few weeks ago, how the hell can he stand now as the great replacement/alternative? new leader gotta be a long term Boris foe, even if that means a backbencher, like David Davis.

sadly, 2 big things need to happen for France to solve this. 1. a lot more rioting, looting and wanton criminality needs to happen if traditional France is to wake up to its plight. 2. the faces of the rampaging mobs need to be shown and seen on camera so France can see and hear who is responsible. without those two, this will keep happening over and over again.

"trying to defend their land" it ceased to be "their land" when "they" attacked the civilians of Belgorod, honey.
102
Sky News confuses Berlin with Bavaria, Liz Truss confuses the Baltic with the Black Sea...Sergey Lavrov must look at the West's class of '22 and think, "my God, how the hell did this lot graduate from anywhere?"
80
"It's not all going Russia's way, because even though the Ukrainian army is getting crushed, Ukraine did manage to target civilians in a block of flats in Belgorod and managed to kill some of the civilians, so that is quite a triumph for both Ukraine and NATO"
74
Q: How did Crimea do without a Kerch Bridge for all those years? A: Absolutely fine
72
If this were in Ukraine in 2014, it would be called a people's revolution and something we must support
64
it's not the city or the rubble of the city that will send NATO into panic. it's the fact Zelensky was warned this would happen, but he threw thousands of cannon fodder to their deaths anyway, plus a bunch of demoralized convicts with shovels beat NATO trained and armed ukrainian battalions, again.
52
his paymasters prevent him from saying "the counter offensive has gone nowhere at horrendous cost in lives and weaponry to the beleaguered Ukrainians"
51
Russia won't be driven back to the Azov Sea, so dream on.
50
would be nice if they got a real military analyst to host this, someone who actually knew something about Russia and Ukraine, say, Brian Berletic.
50
the "expert" forgot to repeat that the Wagner convicts and mercenaries in Soledar are low on morale, poorly equipped, poorly led and that NATO's superior training and weapons of the Ukrainian forces will win the day.
49
if Ukraine had implemented the Minsk Accords, Russia would not be in Ukraine.
49
it;s the latter..they now have to start to tell the truth
47
McGregor would destroy Clarke, because Clarke just recites a script from his handlers.
46
I have no problem with wealthy individuals who feel guilty about this issue from donating all their wealth to poverty stricken areas like.....Bahamas?
40
translation - yep, I went against the advice of NATO and threw thousands of Ukrainian cannon fodder into my futile attempt to defend a city. in the end, despite NATO arms and training of my glorious battalions, a bunch of demoralized convicts armed with just shovels and really poorly led, won. but no panic, yet another wonder weapon is on the way, so our march to Crimea is guaranteed. Zaluzhny, currently in a coma in hospital, will comment later.
40
Ukraine had to switch to plan B, distract the world's focus from the failure of the counter offensive
35
calling Putin a nobody is like the captain of the Titanic ignoring the iceberg
33
"Russia's ILLEGAL invasion of Ukraine" Would love to know Bell's list of LEGAL invasions in world history, and how he would explain which laws make the ILLEGAL ones so ILLEGAL.
31
@Paludion because they can't announce any positive news from their disaster of an offensive
28
so the answer is we have no idea how to deal with inflation, but we are happy to print loads more money and throw it at inflation, thus making inflation worse.
28
so, Rupert is surprised air power has not played such an important role in this war? then Rupert is not much of an expert, is he? Both Russia and Ukraine had excellent air defence systems at the start of the conflict. explains everything. Ukraine's air defences have since been depleted, hence a lot of extra air cover from Russia over Avdiivka and over Bakhmut recently. Come on Rupert, learn the basics.
27
progress
26
@davidboskett5581 Ukraine threw away its best bet for existence when it walked out of the negotiations in 2022.
26
@GalAxy-u9s yep, Minsk would have retained Donbass within the borders of Ukraine. The West thought Russia could be bullied into backing down over time. Ooops!
26
existential fight for Russia. Not for the West. Russia will win.
25
@blacklion8208 not at all. MacGregor gets challenged by interviewers and will explain the reasoning behind his conclusions. Clarke has never been challenged by anyone to substantiate a single thing he blabbers, ever.
23
@EYDuff it's not progress when the result of probing is 30,000 dead and 20% of your weaponry up in smoke and still nowhere near the first line of defence.
23
clearly more diversity and equity officers are needed urgently for the NHS
23
too late! Russia has already forgotten about the West altogether, and good riddance.
23
because, as he fully explained, TO HIS KNOWLEDGE there were no plans to invade.
22
the Ukronazia counter offensive must be going terribly for Clarke to spend 3 minutes on talking about the ZNPP only.
22
brilliant as a liar and propagandist
22
"yep, stay with Ukraine, even if the UK becomes a nation of paupers, because as an MP I will never be poor or needy, but the masses can be plunged into poverty for all I care"
21
as always, no mention of the Ukrainian casualties in Bakhmut, his handler doesn't want the Russian kill rate of 8:1 against Ukrainian cannon fodder mentioned.
21
@omarionbayley9721 Russia has reliable allies in this conflict. Ukraine doesn't.
20
if she applauded lockdowns, green energy, sanctions on Russia and unlimited aid to Ukraine, then she has what she deserves. harsh lesson on cause and effect for her.
20
@Khryss-jr7ju Russia broke nothing. we already have Poroshenko, Hollande and Merkel on record explaining that the priority of the Minsk Agreements was to buy time for Ukraine to gain strength. How many meetings did Holland and Merkel have to discuss ways of getting Minsk implemented?
20
Many thanks for the latest update from the Ukrainian Ministry of Propaganda.
20
and all this because the Ukronazis just could not allow Donbass to be autonomous. Compelling Russian speaking communities to ukrainianization was just too important.
19
Should Ukraine pay for every one of its war crimes too, or we give dear Ukraine a pass?
19
Brexit must also be to blame for the record number of flight cancelations and horrendous delays at Europe's two most over-stretched airports.......Frankfurt and Brussels! and the hundreds of miles of traffic jams today in France. All Brexit.
19
"can attacks like this be described as war crimes?" the very question I asked myself when NATO attacked infrastructure in Serbia and USA did the same in Iraq.
18
Russia already won...he has secured Crimea, he has his land corridor, and pretty wide it is too, and Donbass within his grasp. Game over. Russia wins, Ukraine/NATO loses and is humiliated.
17
As he stated at the end, no reason for Russia to cut off water supply to Crimea. Every reason for Ukraine to cut off water supply to Crimea. So, which side is more likely to attack the dam?
17
@BenDover-1 exactly, while Ukrainian 16 yr olds are now being called up and are just weeks away from being sent into the Russian meatgrinder. Bet they wish they could go to Thailand.
16
a thousand people arrested is an enormous number? in a nation of 150 million? Talk sense man! per capita, more people got arrested last week in Leicester
