well, Peter, I don't remember you vociferously coming out in favour of Tommy Robinson 10 years ago! when exactly did you realize that Tommy was 100% right?

@HallOween-sx5jt keen on trans bs? Tommy said a man can become a woman? wow, I never knew! you live and learn. i have no idea what an identitarian is. if it means for example, a Hungarian who identifies as a Hungarian, rather than a European, well then, I guess I'm an "identitarian" too!

@HallOween-sx5jt just read the Wikipedia entry on "Identitarianism" and it seems a sound philosophy and makes sense to me, so, another point in favor of Tommy! what could you possibly have against identitarianism? sounds like it realizes the obvious....homogeneous societies work better, right?

@HallOween-sx5jt oh, now you describe Identitarianism and I understand it. In the previous post you were talking about "whiteness" and "100% white societies". So, let's recap. Tommy Robinson was wrong to be an Identitarian because you define identitarians as those whose focus is on melanin levels. I'm not convinced. My reading of identitarian thought is that it is far more closely connected with, well, identity, all that you describe as "identifying as part of a nation's culture and history" and NOT about skin tone! I never heard Tommy Robinson say anything racist. On the contrary, his famous "what race is Islam?" question summed up his distancing himself from questions of race.

@HallOween-sx5jt I never heard Tommy Robinson obsess on colour, so, can't agree with you there. Too much homogeneity is detrimental? So, Japan, Poland, Belarus and South Korea have suffered specifically because of their excess of homogeneity? Wow. That one would be a tough one to prove! Not sure that states "pick" a religion. Some states expel religions they don't like, but that is invariably Muslims kicking out infidels these days. I don't see 100% Muslim countries as being particularly stable, do you? where we agree is that an acceptance of the host state's history and culture is essential. Too many immigrants in Europe have come to replicate their home country in Europe, not to respect the ways of the host. Therein lies the danger. But I don't see where Tommy Robinson was wrong in anything he said, and Nigel Farage was VERY slow on picking up on the true cause of malaise in the UK. Nigel was too focused on the EU, and not on the waves of immigration.

@HallOween-sx5jt The prejudice would appear to be all on your side. Compare British culture with Japan's? How much knife crime happens in Tokyo compared to London? How many terrorist attacks has Poland suffered in the last decade compared to UK?

@HallOween-sx5jt Fascinating to be lectured on Belarus, given I have a degree in Russian and have been to Belarus several times. Have you? What constraints do you think there are in Minsk for women to walk home at night? How many Pakistani rape gangs operate in Belarus? How many people have been cancelled in Belarus for saying a man can't become a woman? How many people have been debanked a la Farage in Belarus for their racist beliefs? How many people in Belarus would be in hiding for having shown their school class a depiction of Mohammed? You think a society's lack of constraints = a better society? Certainly there appear to be no constraints these days, in the UK, to spray painting statues of the likes of Churchill. If that is your idea of how terrible constraints are, we have very different views on what stable and orderly society's are. I can tell you, if I had to choose today between living in Belarus or the UK, having experienced both, Belarus wins hands down. At least Belarus feels like Belarus and looks like Belarus and sounds like Belarus, and not Baghdad.

@HallOween-sx5jt Constraints? "we've come to check your thinking" said the police officer to Harry Miller. That was in Britain, not Belarus! Just yesterday, a Scottish man was ARRESTED for sharing his disgust of Palestinian flags flying all along his street. Constraints? you need to get real and understand the horrendous constraints now imposed on the UK compared to a relatively free Belarus. Things have changed. You seem to be stuck in some Soviet bygone era.

@HallOween-sx5jt I left the UK a long time ago and did emigrate. I recommend you do the same. I wouldn't recommend Belarus for you, though as I explained, it has a lot more freedoms these days than does the UK, and the right kind of constraints. Belarus would be a better bet than the UK, but not the best bet in the world. not sure what experience you have in living in other countries, so hard to know which choice would suit you best.
