love the way she uses the word "kidnapped" instead of the more honest "sold into slavery". kind of lets the African slave catchers off the hook, doesn't it?

Let's start at the top of the supply chain. How much should the descendants of the African princes, who sold their own people into slavery, pay for such a horrendous crime?

@danielwatson3273 good point...Africans kidnapped by the African slave hunters who couldn't wait to trade their brethren for a few baubles and trinkets.

@dabby249 if we define "his own people" as "fellow Africans" it most certainly is true, and it still happens in places like Mauretania, where slavery still exists. If we define "his own people" as his fellow tribesmen, then maybe not. As was correctly pointed out. Slavery existed in Africa, African on African slavery, for centuries before any European arrived. When Britain enforced the abolition of the slave trade, African rulers resisted it, as they made a handsome income from the slave trade. Do you know anything about African history?

so, if the African slavers were just a small number of collaborators, with whom were they collaborating before the arrival of the Europeans?
