Letting them go with all industries and territories they got without any single dispute? Ukraine entered Soviet Union without Donbass, Crimea and even Odessa, but left with. Kazahstan got Baikonur that was built on Soviet money and now Russia pays to use it. Etc etc. So, what hostility are you talking about?

And I can say with certainty that Russia is way more free- was actually one on the reasons I didn't want to stay in the west, you are overregulated, you can;t take an unsanctioned breath. What makes you think Russia is not free? Free media? We had A HUGE number of western funded media till a year ago who were talking western propaganda for many years and nothing was done. People were actually displeased, saying- when will those be closed, they are working against our country! Those media was banned only a year ago as a mirror action when our media was banned in the west. Banning our media is not totalitaric from your side? Opposition in prison? Let's take Navalny for example. The guy is a fraud, everyone knows that, and I don't mean politics, I mean bussiness. He is universally despised, has about 2% support, and when suddenly he becomes the leader of the opposition, we clearly see MI6 ears there. By Russian laws you can have 1 suspended sentence, and if you get the second- you go to prison. Navalny had two, but was still free, the authorities were quite loyal to him, he was just required not to leave the country. He did, and sure enough he was arrested when he came back. Laws are laws for everyone, he should have been in prison long ago. What else makes you think Russia is not free?

Theн do live on their own terms, have wide autonomy, keep their traditions, their religion well preserved and nobody prohibits them to do so. Grozny was built up with the help of Russia and is a very beautiful city now. I recommend you find a real Chechen who lives there, and ask if they really want to leave. Russia is protection that they are not able to provide themselves. Not everyone wants to be independent. The dude just speculates on a popular stereotype and tries to stir up ethnic hatred. I can imagine how happy Chechen people are with Ukraine supporting the break away province while Ukraine itself is not letting LNR and DNR go and chelling them constantly. If you really want you can find all that online/ Yugoslavia is a long complicated question, I was mostly talking about American bombing of Belgrade for 78 days straight. Google it. Ukraine and Russia is another complicated question, and again- it is really ridiculous to say Russia was envious of Ukraine being rich)) lol. Ukraine exists only thanks to IMF loans, they destroyed their industry and didn't create anything new. Russia lives much much better. Why Russia started MO in two words- Ukraine in NATO was a threat to Russian safety. There were already contracts signed about American military bases in Crimea, and we can/t have that. And the last drop was when Ze announced they were going to create nukes. To use against who? Guess
