On the "EdTech" story where governments allowed privacy infringing ads to children, they don't respect children as humans at all while they're in school and in some cases while they're still gestating, so it's not surprising that they would do this. Having attended a public school from kindergarten through 12th grade, I can say they disrespect children and infringe on all of their rights.
