It makes me sad when I hear about people committing suicide, but I feel like we should count those stats differently. I also kind of feel like it's the ultimate exercise in proving bodily autonomy, as they can choose when to die. Sort of like the exact opposite of a baby in the womb who has absolutely no bodily autonomy.

I'm not entirely sure I agree, as you do have a right to movement and the method should not be restricted, but at the same time, you're absolutely right that you interact with a car far more than you do with a gun, even if you're a regular gun user. And as we have seen, a car can be even deadlier than a gun in the wrong hands. 86 people dead and 434 injured in Nice just 6 years ago.

@RealMTBAddict You have no right to indiscriminately murder people using a nuclear bomb. I disagree that you have no right to own one.

@RealMTBAddict Owning whatever you want to own is a right, just not one that's constitutionally backed up.

@RealMTBAddict You have a right to buy whatever you want, you have a right of movement, ergo a right to travel in a car if you so choose. The method matters no more than the type of gun you defend yourself with.

@brofist1959 That's all well and good from a legal standpoint, but I'm not talking about what the law is, rather what it should be.

@kj3n569 A large part of why these kids shoot up schools is based on jealousy, sure, but also mistreatment by their peers which gets completely ignored by the school administrators and teachers. I went to public school for all of my primary education and know that if you get bullied the teachers and administrators will often blame you for being bullied. At the school I went to they had a policy of paddling you if you were in a fight, even if you didn't start it or keep it going or even so much as end it. As in if a kid walked up and sucker punched you, and a teacher saw it, you were in for a paddling. And that's common at leftist run institutions. Their policies breed contempt, they cause school shootings every bit as much as broken families and I'd say without both it's a lot less likely. I think most of our current crop of teachers and all of our school administrators need to be replaced PDQ to start fixing this.

@brofist1959 I didn't say wherever, but you have a right to movement and anywhere public for sure. Obviously rules of etiquette would dictate that you not park on top of a tree or in the middle of the road, and indeed they've made laws to that affect. Not that I'm advocating one way or the other on following laws, just pointing out that in that instance they match with what I feel people should do.

@TheBaumcm You don't have the right to buy from someone who refuses to sell to you, but if someone is willing to sell something, you should have every right to buy it, with no exceptions. This isn't codified in law anywhere, this is merely what I believe we all have a right of and wish were codified.
