  4. I think the Girardoni disproves their arguments on what the founding fathers had access to. A magazine fed automatic weapon, and sure 1779 is a bit late, but such products didn't pop up out of the blue. They required experimentation and development. Examples would have existed before then and as you said, our founding fathers were smart enough to anticipate that changes would be made and guns would get better.
