@jakefromstatefarm142 Self defense is a God-given right and the means with which you exercise a right do not matter. So if you wish to be so simplistic, yes, gun ownership is a God-given right, as is sword ownership. The culture in the UK, and its former colonies that are still somewhat beholden to it, is not the same as in the US. They do not view gun ownership as a right, so they willingly gave up their rights. However, that means that gun related homicides should have sunk to 0, but they still happen, and given the lack of ownership there, they've soared from a percentage based analysis. Further, violence in all four of those countries is actually higher than before guns were banned, it's just now it's committed with knives and fists where people suffer more. Also, the leading cause of death for children is actually baby murder, not guns. Ironically, more guns in schools would actually keep them safer, because as you almost had it at the end, criminals don't obey laws, so banning guns won't stop them from owning guns because the knowledge is already out there and can't be revoked.
