  1. Region locking is the only reason I can think of to use a VPN. Any other reasons amount to you not trusting your ISP, which is plausible for some use cases, but unless you've been targeted in the past I wouldn't worry too much. Personally, I think region locking should be illegal, and truthfully it's stupid for companies to do it since it cuts off potential revenue. Hopefully in the future they'll gain some intelligence and stop doing it.
