  1. I think that as it gets better at coding it'll replace a lot of mediocre and already incompetent programmers. After all, it can't be any worse than what Microsoft puts out, no offense to Dave Plummer. There are literally millions of programmers out there and less than half are any good at actually writing code. There are also a lot of scientists who pretend to be programmers on occasion. So yeah, it'll eventually get there and replace the majority of current "programmers", but we're still a few years, possibly decades, away from it replacing actually competent programmers. Of course, if it gets there within our lifetimes, we can say goodbye to humanity.
