I'm going to say up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.

Yes, exactly, and Epic should be shamed for it. I think UE is the best engine there is, but I refuse to use it because of this. Not that I'm too cheap to pay money for one, but if the barrier to entry is them knowing who I am before I've got a product ready, then they've lost me. I'm sure at least a few others feel the same way. One of the myriad reasons I use so much open source software, no one gets to know who I am unless I want them to.

Every bit helps. I would like to have someone like that checking my projects.

They should, starting with the original UE1 and work their way up. Except Tim Sweeney has stated in the past that they don't have the rights to release the source code for any of the third party tools and libraries they used. This is definitely a part of why our copyright lifespans need to be reset to what they were in the 1790's.

@osmiumforge Yeah, his next adventure is slaying bugs on the hub, plus 1000xp for each one pulled.

@schwingedeshaehers You can download it for "free" regardless of OS you use, but you have to give them your information to do so. I don't have a problem with building it myself. I don't even object to their license for using the source code, which is actually rather generous to indie developers. It's the information they want for mere access that I object to. Perhaps you think that's a weird stance, but that's just how I feel about it.

@Barrett I hadn't heard of that before so I had to look it up. Turns out it's even worse, they own 48.4% of Epic. Tencent is like an octopus, they've got tentacles everywhere. I'm not saying that means it's time for high seas adventures with Epic, but someone else might. Not that I'm trying to give anyone any ideas, I'm just saying.

@schwingedeshaehers Yes, you have to have a github account to prove credentials that Epic authorizes by you registering with them as well.

Indeed, each person who knew what was going on and replied are the ones who should be banned.

scale Thanks, I just gained 10 pounds watching that. :p

@rudiwinkelstein2483 Did it work at some point in time?

@superfeel1275 Using locate or find?

@MultiTripleRainbow I've got a copy of VS6 with an MFC example on one of the discs showing how to make an application with tabs. Yes, it is simple, and they know how to do it. They've just chosen not to.

@leftistfrog404 I don't think I understand your stance. Are you saying that earning what you have is a bad thing? Or are you saying you don't think anyone gets what they work for?
1
@rudiwinkelstein2483 Well, it never stopped working for Linux systems. If you're not already, consider using Linux instead.
