  1. Personally, I think every game should be open source. It should be the game assets that you pay a licensing fee for and the license should be in perpetuity. Then you could port the game engine yourself or wait for someone else to do it and contribute those changes for free and play the game anywhere. AC measures should only apply for online games and they should design it so that it all happens on the server. Then it would never affect your gameplay experience.

  2.  @NO-FILTER-EXPERT  Hopefully not, since they're owned by Microsoft, but there are others that could fill that role, and something new could spring up just for this purpose.
