@ararune3734 Indeed, people are lazy and don't want to learn anything, even if switching to an alternative product were insanely easy and would work better. Often changes in interface are a problem. I pushed my parents into using LibreOffice, since at the time I got them to switch MS Office wasn't "free", and they hated it because everything "worked different". All they used at work was MSO and it was garbage and LO works mostly the same but with things in slightly different places, but every time they can't find something I get a call. Tried to show them that for every question they could just Duck It™ and there was almost always a clear and concise answer in the LO docs online, but ugh, every time.

@Finkelfunk It's not make believe, and I certainly don't want them to be bad guys. They really do monitor every call. It's not up for debate, it's just a fact of life.

True, but every little bit helps, and maybe eventually we'll have companies that respect our privacy because they don't have a choice.

@Finkelfunk That's a false equivalency, it'd be more like making it illegal to spy on our calls. Most people these days seem to only text, but loads of people still make calls.

@Finkelfunk That's actually false. The NSA listens in on every call you make. It's just not a human being that does it, rather it's a computer program.

@Finkelfunk I didn't say a human was listening, but rather a computer program. Voice recognition has gotten so good that they don't need a human to listen at all unless there's some sort of question of uncertainty. And yes, every single call, not just the meta data.

@Stop_Gazan_Genocide Okay, so what alternative do you use? Repackaged Chromium or repackaged FireFox? And how is the project any less political?
