The only way to not have them see what you do on your computer is to use Linux. Otherwise, it's either Apple, Microsoft or Google who will see everything you do.

I think they're going to fight it, and drag it out for years. Not that I really care since I don't use Windows.

Most users don't have the time to sit and read a 2000 page document that says somewhere around page 1573 that they steal all your data. It's unrealistic to expect that non-technical users will ever understand what's going on in their computer. However, I would recommend that if anyone doesn't like their data to be stolen that they should use Linux instead.

@tone6410 Yep, pretty much what I'm saying. The only way to be sure your data won't be stolen is to use software that you can audit the source of. It's not a guarantee even then because you have to actually audit it or trust those that do, but it's better than any of the big three closed source software companies. The weird thing is, all three have contributed to various open source projects, yet they refuse to open their OS's completely. That's their right, fine, but I won't use them.

Going on something like 25 years now for me, I've always found it accessible, but I program for my job, so I might be more technically capable than your average user.
