Talk about great family communication. "Oh yeah, by the way, your father accidentally chopped off his head, but they were totally able to reattach it and he only has a little bit of damage, such as walking sideways on Tuesdays and doing backflips onto the bed at night."

You mean you expect woke writers to study history and know reality?! :O

It's not superhero fatigue, but bad-writing-fatigue. People are sick and tired of such horrid writing that it reads like a 5 year old wrote it. Clearly, you would have said the movie was garbage if it had been released a decade ago, but you've been so jaded with the garbage they keep putting out that this somehow wasn't all bad to you despite tearing it completely apart. From the sounds of things, you liked absolutely nothing about it but Miguel from Cobra Kai, which is understandable, and probably the hot chick main character, which is also understandable.

So what you're saying is, a good story, but set in a sci-fi universe. I think most of us want that. If you haven't seen the Ariel episode of Firefly, or Firefly at all, then that's my recommendation and the best you'll ever see of a sci-fi heist. In fact, the majority of the show is sci-fi heists, if that's a specific genre that you like. Although, I can't imagine that anyone hasn't seen it by now if they're a sci-fi fan.

@antonberkbigler5759 I find that to be a strange opinion as Buffy and Angel were both done by Joss Whedon and they were also great from beginning to end. It's only been in recent years when the mind virus has fully taken hold of him that he's stopped producing quality content. And who hated Serenity? As far as I've heard from everyone I've talked to about it, that movie is loved as much as the show was. I think you might be letting his current lack of quality sour your opinion of past works which were actually good. And a side note, when people talk about a universe encapsulating a given show, they're not referring to an interstellar civilization within the show, but rather the concept of the show as a whole.
