  1. I disliked Wayland before, and with each passing day I disliked it more and more. Learning the history of the project, that the X maintainers are the Wayland developers and that they were intentionally letting the project stagnate and doing what I now call project squatting, which I feel is pretty dang evil, I have moved on to hatred. Even if they eventually fix all the features that I use of X which didn't work in Wayland initially, the fact that I could've just kept those features and they could've just fixed the problems with X makes me rather angry. This is a large part of why I haven't updated my system in so long and am considering stopping using KDE. I've been using it for over 25 years now, but they easily bent the knee to Wayland. It would suck having to reimplement all the features I use from KDE in some other DE or WM, but if I have to just so that I can keep X, I will. I hear DWM isn't half bad, so who knows. I could shoehorn in my own config file reader to give it some dynamic flexibility and probably be a lot happier.
