  1. At least you understand it's not truly intelligent, and thus it won't destroy the world on its own. However, you're wrong if you think this technology won't be used to destroy the world because humans are self destructive and will most definitely misuse it to destroy themselves. Consider that first person who figures out how to interface it with drones to control their flight and via satellite no less. Once that happens it'll be a small step to using it in ways none of us will like and bye bye humanity.

  2. If you've been paying attention to organizations like the ALA, then maybe less libraries will sound like a good thing to you. Although, ChatGPT will be one of those things that helps to destroy humanity, along with image generators being used for making high quality propaganda. I've already seen several examples of this and let's face it, humanity is screwed if it doesn't get a handle on this technology. Although, even without it humans still screw things up, like the stock market where just talking trash about your own company can tank the value of it.

  3. Photography is barely a job now, with a computer to control things it'll be gone. Creative jobs are on their way out because of the various image generators and other such generators being developed. While programming hasn't been replaced yet as these LLM's are still getting things wrong, eventually they may be able to replace humans in all creative fields. If they take all of the menial labor jobs and all of the creative jobs, what's left? Maybe doctors, nurses and pharmaceutical companies will be all that's left, and those fields may be dramatically changed for the worse.

  6. Unfortunately it's not ridiculous. Teachers are already pushing themselves out of a job by being really crap at it, but LLM's will be perfected and the profession of teaching may not exist in the future, not because the LLM's replace teachers, but because they replace humans. Neural networks are already generating art, it's just a matter of time before humans are redundant.

  7. Yes. Humans are short sighted and don't heed warnings, so this technology, which isn't truly intelligent by the way, will be used to destroy all of humanity by yet more humans. You shouldn't be for AI in any sense, and even though this technology isn't AI, it still has the potential to destroy and I guarantee you it will.

  10. Yeah, the people controlling it will become corrupt, but I think we'll have plenty of people to worry about misusing it. Humanity is doomed if it doesn't push back against this technology, and I know they won't. No one will heed my warning.
