And you also pay through the nose for it.

@johto Why would you ever sale an old computer? Even the old ones that used IDE drives and have no PCI-E slots I've kept. And they all still work too, but it may be Windows that kills computers so I'm okay there.

@t0nyandre I've found multiple reviews on that device and they all seem to suggest it'll just work out of the box. So now I'm curious what distribution of Linux are you using?
2
@t0nyandre You never responded so I'll add that I found a Michael Horn video dealing with a piece of Focusrite equipment, and he links to a GitHub page in his description that might also help. I can't post a direct link because of YouTube, but it's from only a month ago, so it should be easy to find.

The title says yes, but the video says no. What gives? As for the games aspect, things have obviously gotten so much better. When I first started with Linux I could only get UT to run at like 2 fps, but now I can run it faster and less buggily than I ever could on Windows. Now okay, it was Windows 98, but even so, it's not a source port or anything, I'm running the game entirely through WINE.

Who is the manufacturer?

@jeremylibion This is interesting. They provide a driver in the form of source code. Do you have a VM setup to give it a shot or another computer that is running Linux? This will depend on the distro you use too, as you may have to download some dependencies.

@johto Ah that makes sense. You don't have to care about user freedom or cost because of the company.

Does it use a 3.5mm jack or is it a USB device?
1
@t0nyandre I think Michael uses Fedora, but if it doesn't work for you with Ubuntu then it may be the button press that he does in the video.

@markwiering Somehow my first response was deleted, but what game are you trying to run?
