  1. I've even seen some crazy people use tcc in place of gcc, a few using uclibc for desktop use, and there's BusyBox and ToyBox for replacing the utilities. Have you seen Rob Landley's talk on getting a minimal Linux up and running?

  3. If not for the GPL, we'd be further along. Keep denying it to everyone's detriment, but we need to rid ourselves of it to have truly free software. Although, I think I'm done arguing about it. No one can come up with a valid argument for why they believe me to be wrong in spite of all the very clear evidence that they are in fact the ones who are wrong. Unfortunately, most humans don't study history let alone understand it and they aren't aware of their own surroundings enough to realize that for all of our gains, we're still at the bottom of the pile.
