@JrIcify Suing a corporation for actual wrongdoing is fine. However there's no need to strawman and claim people were saying the opposite when they're merely speaking on the frivolity of this particular suit. You bring up distilled water, but do you have any idea how hot coffee can get? Sounds like you're assuming it'll get hotter when you're failing to take into account how the water is boiled and then run through the coffee grounds. Yes, that's the type of coffee maker they were using. Her lawsuit was indeed frivolous and I wouldn't be surprised if a proper investigation revealed that she burned herself in some other way and wanted someone to cover her medical costs. Because surely no one could be so stupid as to intentionally burn themselves for money, I would hope.

@JrIcify That only keeps it hot, doesn't reboil the contents, and it's still served in a crappy paper cup that barely insulates from your own hand, let alone would scarcely keep the coffee hot.

@SpaceMarshalGyorni That sounds wrong if the person suing is an aggrieved party. Hopefully when it's not a frivolous lawsuit they do receive compensation in such cases.
