  1. I think it's a perfectly valid test as it eliminates a swath of variables to make the testing consistent. Obviously if you're a nonce running 80 tabs of Chrome at the same time you'll need more RAM, but that's newbie level duh-ery.

  2.  @MrNicePotato  Sure, and you can choose to do that, doesn't negate the value of the test. Especially for low spec gamers.

  3.  @sebastian_j  It is a perfectly valid test. You may not care about others, but people with limited means deserve to have free time too, and they are exactly the type of gamers that such a test would be applicable to. If you have a crappy machine, you are going to know what it can handle and not stress it by having things open in the background.
